A Bicycle Journey Together

This is a report of a 3 day self-directed bicycle journey through western Vermont undertaken by a father and his 12 year old son in August of 2005, with reflections that arose during and after the journey.

Part I was written to celebrate the joy of bicycling, to extol the halcyon beauty of the Southwestern Vermont landscape through which this tour traversed, and, perhaps, to offer some insight into that other journey on which a father and his son are often its only pilgrims.

Part II is an examination of the bicycle and bicycling and how they in their small ways may improve some present and future lives, if not, as well, those of the nation and the planet.
